With successive lockdowns, young people have been increasingly exposed to violence linked to the digital world. The e-Enfance Association has recorded a 57% increase in cyberviolence on its Net Ecoute helpline in 2020 (compared to 2019), with a sharp rise in the number of 15-17 year olds. All forms of digital violence are affected, particularly those of a sexual nature. Cyberbullying has nearly doubled over the year, driven by the explosion of webcam blackmail and revenge porn.
