Interventions for primary school pupils

Awareness of internet usage

Educational objectives & topics covered

The educational game programme « The Superheroes of the Internet», which we have specially designed for children aged 6 to 10 (Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5), enables them to raise awareness of Internet usage and its dangers.

More than just a presentation, this is a genuine opportunity for discussion, designed to open up the debate and encourage children to share their experiences. PowerPoint presentations, quizzes, videos, practical questions—a variety of materials are used to encourage children to express themselves.

Children are also taught how to better manage their emotions, to understand their meaning better and learn how to control them more effectively.

This initiative by the e-Enfance / 3018 Association is offered free of charge in primary schools with the support of Google.org.

With « The Superheroes of the Internet», Primary school pupils learn how to use the Internet safely thanks to advice from NetBoy and WebGirl and their six superpowers. Topics such as cyberbullying, password management, health and screens, sharing inappropriate content, phishing and fake news are covered.

The programme for the educational intervention « The Superheroes of the Internet» is divided into six fun modules:

  • Be awesome lively : protecting yourself from misinformation
  • Be awesome clever : avoid scams
  • Be awesome nice : combating cyberbullying, responsible behaviour on the Internet
  • Be awesome brave : inappropriate content on the Internet
  • Be awesome free : protecting yourself from the health consequences of digital usage
  • Be awesome prudent : protecting one's image and personal data

The professionals involved present 3018, the number for victims and witnesses of digital harassment and violence.
