Barometer: bullying among young people in 2025

Bullying among young people: a scourge that affects all age groups and has consequences for their mental health

The e-Enfance Association / 3018 unveils the results of the fifth edition of its annual barometer on harassment and the cyberbullying (conducted by the Audirep Institute, with the support of the Caisse d'Epargne)*.

The study reveals a sad reality: bullying is very much present in children's lives and affects all age groups equally.

35 % young people have been affected by bullying, starting in primary school:

+ 11 points in just one year

Key figures:

  • 37 young people affected by harassment or cyberbullying
  • 71 % cases of harassment take place at the school
  • 25 % of victims have already thought about harming themselves or committing suicide, a figure that rises to 39% among young girls.
  • 41% young people who have been cyberbullied are via WhatsApp, including 25% on class WhatsApp groups

 

*1,602 pairs of parents and children aged 6 to 18 in school were surveyed (a total of 3,204 respondents).
