«Incorporating digital technology into children's lives in general»

Saturday, 26 February 2022, saw the Symposium: «The Humanity of Children?», proposed by The Voice of the Child, at the National Assembly, under the High Patronage of its President, Richard Ferrand. Several topics for discussion were proposed on the effectiveness of children's rights, the unconditional nature of children's humanity and their rights.

This was an opportunity for Justine Atlan, Chief Executive Officer of the e-Enfance Association, to participate in a round table discussion on children's relationship with digital technology.

Referring to children's digital habits and the risks they may face, she stated in particular:

« Digital technology effectively enforces a number of children's rights in a very practical way. This is an extraordinary contribution. On the other hand, the great difficulty is that it also disrupts and undermines a number of legal frameworks and upsets the reference points of the adults around children (parents, professionals).

(…) The challenge today is to include digital technology in children's lives in general and not to consider it as an added extra. Today, children's lives have a digital dimension in all cases. »
