Samuel Comblez, Director of Operations at 3018, was interviewed on France 2’s 8 p.m. news programme about the’entry into force of the Digital Services Act (DSA), new European regulation on digital services. This is also an opportunity to report on the work of the 3018 helpline operators receiving daily calls from victims or witnesses of cyberbullying and other forms of digital violence.
« At 3018, we can already have accounts and content removed thanks to the relationship of trust we have with the platforms. This will become even more apparent in the coming months, thanks to the entry into force of the DSA. Platforms will have to be even more responsive and accountable for the reports they receive. »he declares.
The steady increase in calls to 3018 for several months now, has demonstrated the major impact of digital violence on the physical and mental health of children and adolescents. In this context, the new European regulation will be a major boost to our efforts to improve the protection of minors online.
