e-Enfance launches the Superheroes of the Internet

On Safer Internet Day 2019, the e-Enfance association is pleased to announce the launch of Internet superheroes, our new educational game programme, for children aged 7–10 which we deploy free of charge throughout France, thanks to the support of the foundation Google.org.

Raise awareness among pupils from primary school onwards

The aim of this programme is toRaise awareness among primary school pupils from Year 3 onwards. to the risks of the internet and the protective and responsible attitudes to adopt from an early age.

The module for 55 minutes, deployed in the classroom in the presence of the school teacher, is divided into five parts, each addressing a specific theme: personal data protection, the rrespect for privacy, the’inappropriate exposure to imagess, the prevention of cyberbullying, and the rdetection of fraud.

These themes were selected based on feedback regarding needs expressed in the field, particularly by professionals in the national education system.

The pupils thus accompany for one hour Ben and Lila – aka Netboy and Webgirl when they deploy their powers as Internet Superheroes in their adventures at the heart of the digital world.
The five powers used by their new friends are skills that are valued and taught to children during the workshop.

More pupils made aware in 2019

With this new intervention module, we aim to raise awareness among nearly 20,000 children by the end of 2019. Specific adaptations for extracurricular venues will be offered. And new adventures for Webgirl and Netboy are already planned.

«We are seeing a rejuvenation in children's digital usage, particularly since the widespread adoption of tablets alongside the emergence of platforms and applications designed specifically for them. Preventive measures must be taken from an early age, when children are still receptive to messages from adults. They can even act as advocates for good practices among their parents.»
