Between January and June 2026, the 3018 received 138 reports concerning Discord, compared with 44 for the whole of 2025. This significant rise is accompanied by particularly serious offences: sexual exploitation of minors, sextortion, grooming, doxing, death threats and incitement to self-harm.
Based on this feedback from the field and the analysis carried out by its Observatory, the e-Enfance / 3018 Association has sent a briefing note to Arcom and carried out a report to the cybercrime unit of the Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Particularly serious incidents of violence on Discord
Several reports received by 3018 describe modus operandi linked to violent extremist groups originating from the cybercrime network «The Com».
These communities can exert psychological control over minors and push them towards self-harm or coerce them into producing sexual, violent or degrading content.
In the first half of 2026, the Observatory identified, in particular, four reports concerning particularly serious offences committed against minors on Discord, including exposure to depictions of torture or death and being forced to produce violent sexual content.

The Observatory’s analysis also highlights the limitations of Discord’s response.
Only 33 % of the content reported by 3018 was removed. In particular, the platform requires the author’s user ID to process certain notifications – information that can be difficult, or even impossible, for victims to find.
Since January 2026, As a result, fifteen reports could not be notified to Discord, thirteen of which involved child victims.
In another case of sexual exploitation involving a 16-year-old girl, Nine days passed before the server in question was taken down, even though the platform had all the necessary elements.
From reporting to action
These situations illustrate the vital role played by feedback from the field by the 3018: to identify new modus operandi, cross-check reports, document emerging trends and alert the authorities when a risk to minors is identified.
To find out more, the e-Enfance / 3018 Association will soon be publishing a practical guide on nihilistic violent extremism and sadistic online exploitation, in order to help families and professionals to better identify these issues, understand them and protect minors.
The Association will also be established civil claimant in the trial of Rohan Rane, which is due to open on 5 October 2026 at the Paris Assize Court. This will be the first case in France linked to the «The Com» movement to be heard in court.
Through the reports received by 3018, their analysis by the Observatory and the actions taken in conjunction with the authorities, the e-Enfance / 3018 Association intends to continue to identify new forms of digital violence targeting minors at the earliest possible stage.
