Awareness programme for primary school pupils

Internet Superheroes: learning how to stay safe and interact kindly online

The edutainment programme «The Superheroes of the Net» has been specially designed to raise awareness amongst pupils in Years 1 to 5 (aged 6 to 10) about how to use the internet and the risks involved.

Through the adventures of Ben and Lila, children learn how to use the internet in a safe manner, to recognise high-risk situations and, above all, to know how to react if they find themselves in such situations.

Particular attention is paid to the prevention of bullying and cyberbullying. This section enables pupils to recognise these situations and respond appropriately. It also aims to encourage them to ask for help and to develop a caring attitude in their daily lives, both online and offline. The aim is for children to play an active role in combating these forms of violence.

Learning objectives

By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:

  • Using the Internet safely, by knowing the right things to do.

  • Identify cases of bullying and cyberbullying, whether they are witnesses, victims or perpetrators.

  • Understanding the importance of respecting oneself and others, both online and offline.

  • Adopt a caring attitude and helping others, both online and in everyday life.

  • Protect their personal data, their digital identity and their image.

  • Expand their critical thinking skills when it comes to information, images and content published on the internet.

  • Identify the trusted adults around them and know how to ask for help when they are facing a difficulty or a worrying situation.

  • Expand their ability to act as responsible, supportive and respectful citizens in digital spaces and in their daily lives.
