With the launch of Family Centre, Instagram is adding more parental controls to its app. Parents will soon be able to access new control tools and expert advice.
The new parental supervision tools offered by Instagram will enable parents to:
- See how much time their teenagers spend on Instagram and set limits
- Be notified when your teenager shares that they have reported someone
- View and receive updates on accounts followed by their teenagers and accounts that follow them
The Family Centre also offers parents access to expert resources and useful articles, videos and advice on topics such as how to talk to teenagers about social media.
These tools are currently only available in the United States, but are expected to be rolled out to more countries in the coming months.
