As part of Safer Internet Month, in the presence of Christian Wassenberg, DASEN of Seine Saint Denis, Farida Adlani, Vice-President of the Ile de France region in charge of Health, Family and Solidarity, and Martine Valleton, Mayor of Villepinte, the e-Enfance Association launched a programme on 14 February to prevent cyberbullying and digital risks.
A three-year experiment:
Given the increasing use of digital equipment and applications, it has become essential to start prevention at an early age, before children start secondary school.
Lasting three years and involving a cohort of pupils from Year 3 to Year 6 at two schools in the city, this ambitious experiment initiated by Farida Adlani is free for the municipality thanks to the support of the Google.org foundation for the new «Super-Héros du net» (Internet Superheroes) programme run by the e-Enfance Association.
It aims to support pupils aged 8 to 10 over a three-year period, raising their awareness of responsible practices on the internet and social media.
e-Enfance will offer a total of nine activity sessions over three years, at a rate of three per year per class. The association will also organise two meetings with the parents concerned in the form of conferences.
Raise awareness among pupils from primary school onwards:
The “Superheroes of the Internet” programme is designed for 55-minute modules and is led in class by an e-Enfance representative, in the presence of the school teacher.
For an hour, pupils accompany Ben and Lila – alias Netboy and Webgirl when they deploy their powers as Internet Superheroes – on their adventures in the heart of the digital world.
The workshop is divided into five parts, each addressing a specific topic: personal data protection, privacy, exposure to inappropriate images, cyberbullying prevention, and identifying scams.
These themes were selected based on feedback regarding needs expressed in the field, particularly by professionals in the national education system.
