Will pornographic websites soon be blocked in France to protect minors?
Decision on 8 October. Child protection associations, Association e-Enfance/3018 and La Voix de l'Enfant, believe that minors can access pornographic websites too easily, simply by ticking a box.
On 8 October, the Paris Court of Justice will rule on the emergency proceedings brought by two child protection associations to require major Internet service providers to block pornographic websites on the grounds that minors can access them too easily.
Sites such as PornHub, Tukif, XNXX, xHamster, xvideos, Redtube and YouPorn do not verify the age of users or, at best, simply ask them to tick a box to certify that they are of legal age, argued representatives of these associations.
