67% of 8-10 year olds already present on social media
The Association e-Childhood/3018 and Savings Bank reveal the results of their new study on the cyberbullying. Some figures on cyberbullying:
- 86% of 8 to 18-year-olds are registered on social networks.
- 51% of young people say they visit online gaming sites, including 21% every day or almost every day.
- 24% of young people would not last more than an hour without their smartphones.
- For 89% parents, repeated use of social media has an impact on their children's behaviour.
- 70% of parents do not feel they have control over usage
- 24% families have been confronted with cyberbullying at least once, and more than a quarter of young people report having witnessed it.
- 61% of young people admit to having perpetrated or participated in cyberbullying, even unintentionally.
- 90% parents expect help and information, particularly from an association.
