A parental control centre coming soon to Snapchat

It is now the turn of Snapchat, the social network popular with young people, to launch its «parental control centre». The platform has just announced the upcoming launch of a dedicated space for parents on their child/teenager's account.

In this space, parents will be able to consult the list of their children's friends (On Snapchat, the friends list is not normally visible.), the list of people they have spoken to in the last seven days, and also the assist in reporting abuse or cyberbullying on the platform.

However, this new space will only be accessible to parents if their children have accepted it via an invitation procedure. This can be a difficult step for many parents, given that teenagers are very attached to their privacy.

Let us work together to combat online harassment and violence!
