RTL – Justine Atlan on sharenting: photos of children posted by their parents on the internet

On average, at 13 years old, a child appears on 1,300 photos published online by his parents.

Justine Atlan, Chief Executive Officer of the Association, was interviewed by RTL, about this phenomenon called  Sharenting (Parents who disseminate and share images (photographs and videos) of their minor children on social media or the internet.).

She states: «Parents tend to think they can use their child's image as they wish »and points out that sometimes teenagers inherit an image they cannot control.

She also addresses the risks of this practice, in particular the misuse of photographs of children by malicious individuals who may find themselves on child pornography forums or even embarrassing photos, which, for a teenager, could become a basis for cyberbullying.
