PlayStation 5 parental controls

Access parental control settings

The parental controls on the PlayStation 5 use the system of “Family management” : the parent's account is linked to the children's accounts, and only parents can set up parental controls. You can set up your “family” via a web browser, or directly from the console.

On a web browser

  1. Log in to your PlayStation account, or create one, by following this link (https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/). You will be considered the head of the family.
  2. Go to the family management page: “Account management > Family management > Add a family member”. Click on “Add a child“ then create an account. You can then set up parental controls.
  3. To help you manage parental controls, you can set up additional accounts.“adult”. On the same page “Family management”, select “Add an adult”.
  4. You will then need to tick the box « Parent/guardian » so that adults can modify the parental control settings for all children in the family.

On your PlayStation 5

  1. After logging into your PlayStation account, go to the settings.
  2. Display the menu “Family and parental control”.
  3. In this menu, you have two options: restrict access to this console if your child is the only one using it, or manage your family. For the first option, you must set a PIN code (0000 by default, but can be changed later), then choose the parental control settings. Family management is the same as on a web browser.
