Today, TikTok has enhanced this feature to offer families a wide range of options and create an online experience tailored to each individual.
Family Connection mode allows you to manage the following features:
- Search [New] Determine whether your teenager can search for specific content, users, hashtags, or music.;
- Screen time management : Control the daily usage time of the application. Beyond the defined time (40, 60, 80 minutes, etc.), the application can no longer be used. ;
- Restricted mode : Limit the appearance of content that may not be suitable for all audiences.
At an age when some young people are already starting to create a digital identity, TikTok wanted to give families the tools they need to set boundaries together. Family Link mode has been enhanced to cover new aspects of the TikTok experience:
- Comments [New] : Decide who can comment on videos posted by your teenager (all users, only their friends, or no one).
- Appearance in search results [New] : Choose whether your teenager's account should be private (in which case they will choose who can see the content they post) or public (in which case any user will be able to search for and view said content).
- Liked videos [New] Each user can discover new content (videos, music, accounts, etc.) by browsing through what the people they follow have liked. This new option allows parents to decide whether or not other users can see the list of videos their teenager has liked.
- Direct messaging This option allows you to limit the list of users authorised to send messages to your teenager, or even to simply disable direct messaging on the platform. Keen to ensure the safety of our users, we have developed numerous guidelines and options regulating the exchange of messages. For example, access to direct messages is automatically disabled for those under 16. Similarly, only approved subscribers can communicate via messages, and it is Unable to insert images or videos into a message.
