New worrying challenge: the «72-hour game»

A new game has recently emerged, known as the 72-hour game. The principle is simple to understand: it involves running away for 12, 24 or even 72 hours without contacting one's parents.

The extent of the phenomenon is still uncertain and its very existence is being questioned. However, recently, a 13-year-old girl proved otherwise by claiming to have participated in it.

After disappearing for three days in northern France, Emma explained that she wanted to take on the 72-hour challenge. «At first, you think it's fun, but in the end, it's ridiculous,» she explained to Europe 1.

Since this phenomenon came to light, many parents and organisations, including the e-Enfance Association, have been spreading warnings about this challenge.

It is therefore important to remain vigilant in the face of this new challenge and to remind young people that running away is never harmless and can have serious consequences.
