New parental control tools on Snapchat

With the new Parent Centre launched by Snapchat, parents benefit from new tools to better protect their teenagers on the platform. The purpose of this new parental control is to promote trust and collaboration between parents and teenagers

How does it work? First, the teenager must accept their parents' request to install parental controls. Once this invitation has been accepted, parents will have access to friends list of their teenager, but also to the list of people they have chatted with in the last 7 days. They will also be able to report any abuse directly to the platform. These features are not intended to allow parents to intrude on their children's privacy (they cannot see the content of the exchanges), but rather to better protect them in terms of their online social interactions.

Good to know: parents with several children can log in to multiple accounts on the platform.

Let us work together to combat online harassment and violence!
