Maud Baecker: “Harassment scarred me for life”.”

An intimate wound revived by fiction

Revealed to the general public in Tomorrow belongs to us on TF1, Maud Baecker is busy with other projects. Starring in the TV film Dad in spite of himself ( broadcast on TF1 in early March) and season 2 of’Erica, the actress spoke to Télé Star about a subject that affects her deeply: the bullying.

Maud Baecker recounts how she was bullied at secondary school, at a time when she was feeling particularly vulnerable following the separation of her parents. «It's a painful memory that left a deep impression on me», she explains. 

The actress insisted on the importance of not isolating yourself When you're a victim, you tend to isolate yourself, whereas on the contrary, you need to talk about it to get out of it«. She confides that theatre has enabled her to regain her self-confidence and overcome her ordeal, a message of hope that she hopes to pass on to younger people.

As the mother of a little boy, she also spoke of her greatest fear that her son would one day face harassment. 

A fear that reinforces his vigilance and commitment as a parent. 

«That's why the bond of trust is essential. He knows he can tell me anything, and I hope he will. It's up to adults to set an example by being kind and caring.»

The show Tomorrow belongs to us, and the TV film Dad despite him have recently highlighted the 3018, the free, anonymous and confidential number to combat digital harassment and violence among young people. 

A reminder that underlines the importance of know the number 3018, Maud Baecker is a member of the Maud Baecker Foundation, an organisation that helps young people, whether they are victims, witnesses or perpetrators, as well as parents and professionals, to obtain advice and support. Through her testimony, Maud Baecker is helping to breaking the silence on this scourge, but also to raise awareness among all families.
