After dating sites, the CNIL contacted the publishers of 54 websites whose content is aimed at young audiences (social networks, news, games, educational support and television channels). The authority is calling them to order to ensure that they comply with their privacy obligations. In fact, 87% of these sites collect personal data without justification in some cases. Only 37% allow their users to delete their information.
The CNIL is therefore inviting these websites to comply by providing them with comprehensive operating procedures. New checks will then be carried out. If no action has been taken, penalties will be imposed on websites aimed at children.
