The Google Tour: background and objectives
The internet and digital tools raise many questions about usage. What are the right habits to adopt in order to browse the internet safely? How can we teach children to use the internet wisely and adopt good digital practices? It is in this context that Google, supported by its partners who are experts in digital security and child protection on the internet, – e-Childhood / 3018 and Cybercrime – launches the tour “Family safety”(Safety Tour).
The principle? Meet with parents and their children in 20 cities across France.
The participants
Wednesday, 9 October marked the start of the Google Tour.
This first day of the tour attracted the interest of many prominent figures. Among those present at the launch event were:
- Stephane Tested, Member of Parliament #LREM in the twelfth constituency of Seine-Saint-Denis, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Cultural Affairs and Education
- Olivier Klein, Mayor of Clichy-sous-Bois
- Adrien Taquet, Secretary of State for Child Protection, reporting to the Minister for Solidarity and Health.
The e-Childhood workshop
This tour provided an opportunity for our speakers to lead their workshop, “The Superheroes of the Internet,” highlighting the challenges of the internet and its potential dangers.
