Bullying among young people: a scourge that affects all age groups and has consequences for their mental health

Annual survey on harassment and cyberbullying

The e-Enfance Association / 3018 unveils the results of the fifth edition of its annual barometer on harassment and the cyberbullying (conducted by the Audirep Institute, with the support of the Caisse d'Epargne)*.

The study reveals a sad reality: bullying is very much present in children's lives and affects all age groups equally.

35 % young people have been affected by bullying, starting in primary school:

+ 11 points in just one year

Key figures:

  • 37 % young people affected by harassment or cyberbullying
  • 71 % cases of harassment take place within the school
  • 25 % of victims have already thought about harming themselves or committing suicide, a figure that rises to 39% among young girls.
  • 41% young people who have been cyberbullied are via WhatsApp, including 25% on class WhatsApp groups

Find the key data from the study and their interpretation during our symposium dedicated to the mechanisms of bullying among young people. On this occasion, the study will be analysed by Samuel Comblez, Deputy Chief Executive of the Association.
