Paris, 9 February 2021 – On Safer Internet Day, a global day of awareness and protection for minors on the Internet, Bodyguard and the e-Enfance Association announced an operational partnership between the Bodyguard application and the Net Ecoute 3018 assistance platform.. A new module, accessible directly from the Bodyguard homepage, now allows users who are victims of online harassment to be put in direct contact with professionals from the Net Ecoute 3018 support platform.
A new step forward in protecting the youngest members of society
Bodyguard now includes instant messaging from the Net Ecoute 3018 support platform (operated by the e-Enfance Association) in its mobile application. Bodyguard thus enables its users, who are victims or witnesses of hate speech or cyber violence, to contact a Net Ecoute professional directly for personalised support via chat or a free phone call.
With 62% of teenagers saying they cannot live without their smartphones for more than a day* and exposing themselves to increasing risks, Bodyguard and the e-Enfance Association are joining forces. to strengthen the protection of vulnerable children and adolescents in the digital world. With this partnership, young people in difficulty will not have to leave the application to benefit from the support and advice of the Net Ecoute teams.
Net Ecoute 3018, the helpline number for the European Commission's Safer Internet Programme in France
Operated by the e-Enfance Association, Netecoute.fr 3018 has been the national toll-free number for the protection of minors on the Internet and digital parenting assistance since 2009. As a trusted third party, it is the only alert system directly linked to social networks, the Pharos platforms of the National Police, the Digital Brigade of the National Gendarmerie, and 119-Enfance en danger (Children in Danger). Its team of psychologists, lawyers and digital tool specialists, trained in the protection of minors, advises and supports young people, parents and professionals on all issues related to the use and dangers of digital technology. It is thus able to report illegal content and request its removal from platforms and social networks in less than 24 hours. Bodyguard App, technology serving people to combat online hate
With the integration of a new module providing direct access to the Net Ecoute 3018 support platform on its mobile application, Bodyguard is strengthening its role in protecting young people. From blocking hateful content to enabling users to contact a professional from the e-Enfance Association directly via instant messaging, Bodyguard is enhancing its solution to ensure an increasingly supervised and caring digital environment.
To go even further, Bodyguard is also boosting its technology to alert users when a sensitive situation is detected, such as an increase in hateful comments. By promoting access to the Net Ecoute 3018 support platform (service available Monday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) on the home page, when the situation becomes alarming for the user, the strength of Bodyguard combined with that of the e-Enfance Association is demonstrated by comprehensive protection ranging from alerts to prevention, including listening and assistance.
