Arte Journal – Samuel Comblez on screen time for young children

Samuel Comblez, director of operations for the Association and child and adolescent psychologist, was interviewed for Arte Journal about screen time for young children.

”When children use screens, it is always done to the detriment of activities that are much more essential to their development. Between 2 and 7 years old, they need to learn to discover the world, interpersonal relationships, managing their emotions and developing their language skills.”

He also recalls: “Screens prevent as well as rest and sleep times, which are essential for child development.»

Finally, he emphasises the importance of dialogue between parents and their children and the importance of play and learning without digital devices.
