From cyberbullying to triathlon: Antonin's incredible resilience

The story of a fight against harassment

At just 21 years old, Antonin still bears the scars of a painful past. It all began in Year 9, when a simple gesture of solidarity towards an absent classmate triggered a spiral of bullying. The bullying did not stop at the school gates; through cyberbullying, it invaded his daily life, reinforcing his isolation.

Gradually, anxiety took over. Antonin developed a phobia of school, withdrawing into himself and distancing himself from the outside world.

An ordeal that profoundly affected his life, leaving him without any reference points or prospects for the future.

Sport as an escape

It was through sport that Antonin found a way to rebuild himself. Running, then cycling and finally swimming became ways for him to push his limits and regain his self-confidence.

This newfound strength prompted him to take on a major challenge: participating in the Deauville triathlon On 21 June, not only for him, but also to support the’e-Enfance Association / 3018, committed to anti-bullying

Every stride, every pedal stroke, every stroke of the oar was a reminder that no one should have to face this silent violence alone.

To give even more meaning to his commitment, Antonin created an online fund and shared his journey on Instagram and TikTok (@antoninandre_), raising awareness among his community about the challenges of combating harassment and showing that everyone can take action at their own level.

On the day of the triathlon, he covered 500 metres of swimming, 23 km by bicycle and 5 km run in an impressive time of’1 hour 44 minutes. But beyond the stopwatch, it is his courage and determination that matter. This challenge symbolises his resilience, his ability to bounce back and transform his experience into a message of hope for all young victims.

A message of hope

“Do not be afraid to speak up, do not be ashamed. After the darkest moments, something wonderful often happens.”

His journey shows that it is possible to transform a traumatic experience into a driving force for resilience. His courage, determination and commitment to others make him a true source of inspiration.

Antonin's story reminds us that beyond suffering, there is always a path to hope and recovery.

The e-Enfance/3018 association is very proud of this courage and determination and would like to thank Antonin once again for his commitment.
