YouTuber Squeezie says NO TO BULLYING!

The YouTuber Squeezie is now taking action to say «Stop harassment» in its latest video, which has already racked up over 2,000,000 views on YouTube.

Squeezie recounts his recent experience:

«Several days ago, I received an email from an organisation that a mother had contacted because her daughter appeared in one of my videos where I react to videos that are awkward or funny, call them what you will. (...) The mother told the organisation that since her daughter appeared on the internet, she had been a little depressed. (...) But I'm not entirely blameless, in the sense that I did give prominence to this video and it did expose it to people who hadn't seen it before. So I feel bad about it. That's all there is to it, and I wanted to apologise to this person and her mother.»

With nearly 8 million subscribers, the young YouTuber apologises publicly but doesn't stop there. Drawing on his experience, he talks about harassment and cyberbullying and encourages his fans to be mindful of these practices, to avoid harassing others or even becoming a harasser without realising it. In particular, he explains the impact of social media on these situations of harassment, which often turn into cyberbullying.

«Let's not accept harassment. Let's stop thinking it's normal...»

The e-Enfance Association would like to thank the YouTuber for this initiative and for referring viewers to our free, anonymous and confidential helpline.  Net Ecoute 3018 dedicated to cases of cyberbullying and the 3020 for «classic» cases of harassment». We are confronted with the situations he describes every day, and we invite you to watch and share this video as widely as possible. Thank you, Squeezie!
