SUMMARY

The player controls a child lost in ancient ruins who discovers a mythical creature named Trico. Trico's character is essentially comparable to that of a cat or dog, and the player must work with this character to progress through the adventure. In order to advance in The Last Guardian, the player must actively collaborate with the creature. The player must give it commands, find it food and care for it. In addition, the rugged terrain regularly prompts the hero to use the mysterious quadruped's agility to overcome obstacles. The game focuses on the relationship between the creature and the boy, which evolves and quickly becomes very strong, making the characters endearing.

The game features non-violent battles against other guardians and therefore seems suitable for young teenagers.
