In a country with the largest video game community in the world, the Chinese government announced a few days ago that it would be implementing a curfew on video games. Reduced playing time, limited microtransactions, and identity and age checks are now the norm.

➡️ No gambling between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.

➡️ No microtransactions exceeding £28 per month for children aged 8–16, £57 per month for those aged 16–18

According to Justine Atlan, Chief Executive Officer of the e-Enfance Association On young people's addiction to video games in France: «We mustn't make a direct link between online gaming and addiction... the pleasure of online gaming isn't always anti-social and addictive, but we need to establish a framework to prevent any potential abuses.»
