The e-Enfance / 3018 Association has announced that it has joined the proceedings as a civil party in the judicial investigation opened at the Paris Judicial Court concerning the X platform.
An initiative to protect children online
This initiative is part of its ongoing commitment to protecting minors from online abuse, particularly sexual abuse. The judicial investigation focuses in particular on acts that may constitute online child sexual abuse, the distribution of sexual content involving minors – including content generated by artificial intelligence – as well as operational failings on the platform.
In 2025, nearly one in four reports made to 3018 concerned sexual offences involving minors: child sexual abuse, sextortion, grooming, incitement to send intimate content, or the non-consensual distribution of sexual content.
The first trusted flagger appointed by Arcom in France, the e-Enfance / 3018 Association has also repeatedly raised the alarm about shortcomings that could undermine the effective protection of minors on X, particularly in the detection and handling of reports and the removal of illegal or harmful content.
By bringing this civil action, the Association aims to help establish the truth and to emphasise that the protection of children must remain an absolute priority in the design, moderation and operation of digital services.
The 3018 service is available 7 days a week, from 9 am to 11 pm, by telephone and via the chat function on the 3018 app.
