On Wednesday 9 July, the 5th edition of the match charity campaign to combat cyberbullying and online abuse, organised by the Cyber Task Force in aid of the e-Enfance Association / 3018.
This eagerly awaited summer event brought together nearly 300 attendees from different backgrounds: institutions, associations, partners, patrons and elected officials. An evening dedicated to solidarity, from sport and of the friendliness.
In total, 11 matches took place in a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere, with teams from major institutions competing against each other: ARCOM, ARCEP, CNIL, the Defenders of Rights, as well as the Cyber Task Force. All have wet the jersey to defend the same cause: combating harassment and protecting children on the Internet.
Following these matches, Perrine Goulet, Member of Parliament for Nièvre and Chair of the Children's Rights Delegation, presented the cup to the winning team amid enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.
The highlight of the evening was the official speeches by several prominent figures, who emphasised the importance of collective action against online violence:
- Sarah El Haïry, High Commissioner for Child Protection: “Today, we are all on the same team, playing for the children, to break this vicious circle.”
- Daniel Agacinski, General Delegate for Mediation and Director of Territorial Action at the Defender of Rights: “We didn't have the same jersey today, but we had the same conviction: that children's rights must be defended in the digital realm.”
- Marie-Laure Denis, Chairwoman of the CNIL: “I would like to commend e-Enfance and its remarkable work against cyberbullying and content that is inappropriate for minors.”
- Laure de La Raudière, Chairwoman of ARCEP: “I would like to thank Justine Atlan, Chief Executive of e-Enfance, who has been fighting against bullying and cyber violence for so many years. Thank you for bringing us all together here; we need everyone's energy!
- Laurence Pécaut-Rivolier, MMember of the ARCOM college and qualified individual: “I would like to remind you that e-Enfance is the leading trusted reporting service and that it is a colossal undertaking.”
- Olivier Esper, Director of Institutional Relations at Google France: “The most valuable aspect of this collaboration with e-Enfance is the concrete progress we have made together..”
- Justine Atlan, Chief Executive of the e-Enfance Association: “Twenty years ago, few people took this issue seriously because children's problems were not considered real social issues. We are delighted that we are no longer alone and that we have support.”
Carried along by the summer heat, the evening continued around a cocktail reception and a fiery dance floor, hosted by a DJ.
In summary:
Nearly 300 participants, 11 matches played, 1 cup awarded, refreshments shared, gourmet snacks savoured, bursts of laughter, passionate discussions...
And a festive atmosphere until the end of the night!
A huge thank you to all our partners, institutional, private and associative, for their presence, their unwavering support and their commitment to our cause.
See you next year for another edition of this summer event promoting solidarity and safer digital technology for young people!
