Net superheroes: understanding, acting and protecting yourself online
The edutainment programme “The Superheroes of the Internet”, has been specially designed to raise awareness among pupils at CP to CM2 (from 6 to 10 years old) to uses of the internet and its dangers.
Through the adventures of Ben and Lila, children learn to use the internet safely, à recognise dangerous situations and to knowing how to react if necessary.
An essential part of the programme is devoted to harassment prevention and cyberbullying, to enable children to recognise these situations, react appropriately, ask for help, adopt caring behaviour in their daily lives, both online and offline, and become active players in the fight against this violence.
Learning objectives
At the end of the session, the pupils will be able to :
- Using the Internet safely, by knowing the right behaviours to adopt.
- Recognising and understanding harassment and cyberbullying.
- Knowing how to react and who to ask for help if you have a problem.
- Adopting a caring attitude and help others, both online and in real life.
The programme themes
The «Net Superheroes» educational programme enables children to acquire 6 “superpowers”:
- Super free : controlling screen time
- Super nice: respect others and know how to react in the event of harassment or cyberbullying
- Super brave: protecting yourself from inappropriate content online
- Super cautious: protect your image and personal data
- Super smart: avoid scams
- Super sharp : develop critical thinking skills and combat misinformation
The professionals involved present 3018, the national helpline for harassment and digital violence.
Practical information
- Face-to-face session, directly at your establishment
- 1 class per session (up to 30 pupils)
- Up to 4 operations per day, between 9am and 5pm
- Duration: 1 hour for CP or CM1, 1 hour 30 minutes for CM2
- Session led by a facilitator from the Association e-Enfance / 3018
- Programme offered free of charge in elementary schools for members with the support of Google.org.
