With BeReal, created by two Frenchmen, Alexis Barreyat and Kevin Perreau, you won't become an “influencer”, you won't have any way of making your life glamorous, nor will you be able to drool over the lives of others. Instead, you can share an authentic moment of your day with your friends, at a time when you least expect it.
Every day, users receive a notification at a random time and have only two minutes to take a photo and capture the moment, then share it with their friends.
The added bonus of the app is that it takes two photos simultaneously using the front and rear cameras. This allows you to capture your expression and what is happening in front of you.
On BeReal, there are no filters or likes. The aim is to show your real life. Released in 2020, the app has enjoyed growing success in the United States and then in France, reaching 20 million downloads to date.
