Instagram and Snapchat targeted in lawsuit following teenager's suicide in the United States

In 2015, a 17-year-old American teenager took his own life after suffering a wave of harassment on Instagram and Snapchat platforms.On 11 April, a complaint was filed by the Centre for Victims of Social Media (SMVLC) against the latter, on the grounds of’have “deliberately” created an environment that was detrimental to the young man's mental health.

And pointed the finger at the dangerous, addictive and unreasonable nature of these social networks who ”sell” products “designed to be addictive, despite the mental health problems they can cause in young people”. Complaints about platforms are on the rise. 

Suicide can be the most dramatic outcome of cyberbullying situations and, hopefully, the rarest possible. Without going to such extremes, There are many forms of suffering caused by repeated mockery, insults and hateful messages on social media.
