Last September, the government announced the introduction of empathy classes in 100 French schools to combat bullying. This experiment will ultimately be rolled out in 1,000 schools from the start of the new term in January.
What is the aim of these empathy courses? Teaching children to respect others' differences and fostering a culture of tolerance and kindness.
Inspired by the Scandinavian method, these courses will be taught in nursery and primary schools, at a rate of one to two hours per week. This test phase should enable us to find the best formula (frequency, duration, organisation). before a planned rollout in September 2024 for all primary schools.
